An annual celebration taking place in the fall, Hmong New Year is a time to honor ancestors and gives thanks for the completion of the harvest. With the largest urban Hmong population in the world, Saint Paul is the perfect place to celebrate with family and friends, Hmong and non-Hmong alike.

Ball tossing is a popular and common activity among adolescents. There are sometimes competitions too. Be the last pair standing to win!
The are a variety of delicious food vendors available as well! Make sure to bring cash and get a taste of the culture.
In addition to food vendors, there are an array of different vendors ranging from clothes to plushies.

The United Hmong Family, Inc. exists to preserve cultural identity through intergenerational collaboration, involvement of the Hmong clan structure and youth leadership. In support of this mission, UHF, Inc. hosts two annual events, the July 4th Freedom Festival and the Minnesota Hmong New Year.
